Georgia: new cash transaction reporting proposed

Parliament has passed a new law to combat money laundering.

According to a report in Civil Georgia, an on line newspaper, Georgia is to create an FIU on the NCIS model, as an analytical department not an investigation agency.

In addition, Georgia will implement cash transaction reporting for all cash and cash-like transactions through banks having a value exceeding the equivalent of euro 15,000.
