A former policewoman and her husband have been sentenced to jail after conviction for fraud. They sold lorry and motorcycle licences - but didn't conduct proper testing.
Their company was authorised by Victoria's department of roads to train and test applicants for licences.
But the training was inadequate and the tests didn't test.
Mark La Vanda was sentenced to 18 months in jail and began serving his sentence immediately. He also pleaded guilty to possessing an unlicensed firearm.
His wife, Natalie Syros who has four children was sentenced to 15 months, suspended.
The pair would set up stall in factories and markets to drum up business.
