wmlro.com: drugs found on airport carousel
Drugs valued at some GBP800,000 have been found in a suitcase left on the baggage retrieval system at London's Heathrow Airport.
The bag was left behind when all other luggage had been picked up, on the carousel for a flight from Mexico.
Containing approx 20kg of cocaine, the bag is one of the largest single-packs of drugs discovered at a UK airport.
Customs officers are trying to link the bag to a passenger, suggesting a lack of tags.
Alternatively, there is speculation that the bag may have been inserted in the handling system in Mexico so as to bypass checks but the pick-up failed at Heathrow.
