Banking: Carlile Bankshares buys two banks

The consolidation in the USA's small banks sector continues with the purchase by Fort Worth, Texas, headquartered Carlile Bancshares of two small banks both in Austin, Texas.

Carlile Bancshares, Inc. was formed in 2009 by previous owners and senior officers of State National Bancshares, Fort Worth: it has USD300 million in capital available to support Treaty Oak and future acquisitions.

In February the company completed the purchases of Treaty Oak Bank of Austin and Community State Bank of Austin.

Ronald W. Simpson has been named President of the bank. James A. Potts is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.

Both Simpson and Potts are former senior officers of State National Bank of Abilene, which was acquired by BBVA Compass in 2007. Simpson and Potts have each served as group President of the BBVA Abilene bank.
