ATM & Kiosk: attempt to blow up ATM
It was shortly after 0500 this morning, as the Muslim residents of Malaysian town Shah Alam prepared for morning prayers that a loud explosion was heard, rattling windows and causing fear. But this was no terrorist attack....
In the quiet district of Kota Kemuning, a gang of men parked their motorcycles outside a bank, spray painted the CCTV lenses and put home-made explosive around the base of an ATM.
Then they blew it up.
The windows blew out; the ceiling fell in; the door flew out of its frame.
But the ATM remained sealed.
The men ran back to their motorbikes and sped off.
