ATM & Kiosk: new diversion technique for ATM users
Diverting the attention of, or distracting, an ATM user is a long established method of stealing money. But a recent incident in Paris is novel.
As the user on the Paris South Bank tapped in his ATM numbers, two pretty young women walked up, attracted his attention - and then flashed reportedly very nice breasts. Distracted, he looked back to find that one of them had asked the machine to give her e300 and collected the cash. The pair then ran off with the money, leaving his card behind.
The pair, or to be more precise both pairs, were caught on the ATM's video but, police say, there were no distinguishing marks. And the camera didn't catch their faces.
