Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has brought charges against a former senior officer of HSBC in Hong Kong.

The charges alleges that Chen Ching-Hsiao, 46, accepted a bribe of USD60,000 for approving applications for credit facilities from a client of the bank.

The charge alleges that in June 2007, the defendant accepted the money from a Taiwanese client as rewards for recommending or approving the applications of two companies for credit facilities from HSBC.
