wmlro.com: cocaine found in false bottom of suitcase

A flight from Barbados to London's Gatwick Airport, arriving on 9th March, bore a surprising cargo: four kilos of cocaine, worth GBP160,000 in a suitcase, hidden beneath a false panel.

A 40-year-old woman from London has been charged with the illegal importation of a controlled drug.

The UK is in the grip of a series of strikes by government officers. Nick Crouch, Assistant Director of UK Border Agency at Gatwick said "This was a good find. It is especially encouraging as it demonstrates that the strike by the PCS union has not caused the level of disruption intended to our round the clock protection of the border to protect the UK from harm."
