There are a number of different sanctions applied by the UK in addition to the HM Treasury's financial sanctions. These include the proscribing of organisations for reasons of national security.
Organisations are proscribed (banned) under anti-terrorism provisions. The full list as of 6 July 2011 (the most recent comprehensive list published by The Home Office) is as follows:
On 9th November 2011, and with effect from midnight that day, the UK's Home Office issued an order proscribing the organisation Muslims Against Crusades, saying it is a phoenix identity for an organisation that is already proscribed under various names.
