Sanctions: Council Regulation (EU) No 961/2010 - Iran
Sanctions: Council Regulation (EU) No 961/2010 relating to Iran was published yesterday. As an EC Regulation, it has immediate effect without the requirement for additional steps by member states.
Council Regulation (EU) No 961/2010 repeals Regulation EC 423/2007.
Increases restrictive measures relating to dual use goods and technology as well as equipment "which might be used for internal repression"
There are restrictions on "key equipment and technology for and restrictions in the Iranian oil and gas industry, restrictions in Iranian investment in the uranium mining and nuclear industry, restrictions on transfers of funds to and from Iran, restrictions on Iran's access to the the insurance and onds markets of the Union, restrictions concerning the Iranian banking sector and restrictions on providing certain services to Iranian ships and cargo aircraft"
