FI Fraud: Phishing - Maybank, Malaysia

In the past few days, there has been extraordinarily high levels of phishing activity relating to Maybank, Malaysia's largest bank. The company has a significant international footprint rendering the potential pool of victims somewhat larger than that of many other banks which have been targeted in recent months.

The criminals behind the activity have attacked dozens of legitimate websites, finding insecure directories and placing rogue pages on those sites. The sites attacked are in a variety of languages - for example avancebt.com is a Spanish language website for a biotech company in Chile.
