FI frauds: A rash of phishing scams is breaking out
It's been a little quiet on the phishing front in recent weeks as fraudsters have targetted those afraid of rising interest rates. But users of on-line banking are under threat again.
Two different scams are circulating relating to that popular target South Africa's Standard Bank. The scam appears to originate from a spam list that has been circulated amongst South African training companies as it has now broken out of South Africa into the global market and addresses that are suffering Standard Bank scams are those which also receive extensive spam from SA's training companies.
Another scam is targeting users of internet banking with Alliance and Leicester, a brand which is in the process of disappearing into the Santander identity.
