FI Frauds: HKMA warns of fraudulent website
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website which has similarities to the website of Shanghai Commercial Bank.
HKMA warning notice:
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public in Hong Kong to a fraudulent website with the domain name "shacombkmail.com". The website looks similar to the official website of Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. (Shanghai Commercial Bank). Shanghai Commercial Bank has clarified that it has no connection with the fraudulent website.
Shanghai Commercial Bank has reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact Shanghai Commercial Bank at 2818 0282 and any local Police Station or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.
